We are delighted to announce a collaboration with TrondheimSolistene, one of the most exciting ensembles of Norwegian musicians on the international stage!
The collaboration between the two artistic partners was first explored after meeting at the St Magnus Festival in the Orkney Islands in 2014 and again in 2017. Having experienced each other’s work at the Festival, a shared understanding gradually revealed itself, and despite coming from different genres, our mutual focus on Norway´s unique folk heritage gave us many lines of synergy.
Our relationship with TrondheimSolistene was revived during the early months of lockdown in 2020, and after receiving a commission from them, we designed a series of patterns for mittens and fingerless gloves for them. These designs take inspiration from traditional Norwegian folk art known as ‘rosemaling’. The beautiful spiral forms in both the mitten and fingerless glove also evoke elements of the bass key used in music, so the match is perfect!
We will continue to develop our collaboration in 2021 – so keep your eyes peeled for more information!
You can already now purchase the patterns for the ARNE & CARLOS x TrondheimSolistene Mittens and Fingerless Gloves in our webshop. Click here or click on any of the beautiful images in this post to get the patterns.
