We always get so excited for autumn, when we finally get to talk about the new collections which we design for ROWAN! Designing a 10-12 piece collection like this takes a lot of time and effort, from coming up with an idea for the inspiration to designing the garments, selecting the colours and then seeing the garments come to life. And then, at some point, we have to think of a theme for the photoshoot and work on styling ideas. It’s a lot of work, but totally worth it when we see the final results! We usually spend about 15 months working on a collection, but we don’t actually knit any of the garments ourselves. At most, we knit swatches to accompany our sketches and measurements. It is so much better for us to focus on the designs and build a strong collection with some great visual impact, which is what we do best. And then we let the Rowan technical team focus on knitting the samples, grading the designs and writing the patterns, which is what they do best!
Our new collection for Rowan is inspired by traditional Norwegian rose painting and woodcarving. We decided that we wanted to work with a classic fit which would be suitable for both men and women, so this is definitely a unisex collection.

Enjoy!
