How to make Kållåda.


Here is the recipe for our traditional Swedish dish called Kållåda:

1 kg cabbage

500 gr ground beef

1 onion, sliced

2dl cream

2tbsp calf fond 

1tbsp soy sauce

0.5 dl water

1sp salt

Ground pepper 

1 tbsp butter 

Heat the butter in a pan, add the cabbage and stir until soft. 

In a large bowl, add the ground beef, sliced onion, soy sauce, cream, water, salt and pepper and mix well. Add half the cooked cabbage to the mixture. 

Butter up an oven pan, add a layer of the cooked cabbage in the bottom, add the meat mixture and finish with a layer of cabbage on top. 

Bake in the oven at 175C  for 40 minutes. 

Garnish with lingonberries, and enjoy!
