A While ago, we did the “How to knit the easiest sock in the world tutorial”, see it and get the sock pattern here.

Some people commented on the video and asked us to show how we pick up the stitches and knit the heel – so, here is a new tutorial where we show that:

Needles: 1 sets of 5 dpns. 2,5 mm or 3 mm

Yarns: 100 grams of the Regia Design Line by Arne&Carlos, upt to now we’ve designed 3 editions and there are 18 colourways available. We used “Summernight” both in the tutorial.

50 grams or Regia sock yarn in a solid colour, like the green that we’ve used.

Buy the yarn here.

Put the sts from the yarn in contrasting colour at the heel over on 4 dpn = ex 16 sts on each.

Knit around with decreasing in the sides according to the decreasing on the toe on every second round.

Rnd 1: k64

Rnd 2: k1, k2tog, k26, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k26, k2tog, k1.

Rnd 3: k 60

Rnd 4: k1, k2tog, k24, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k24, k2tog, k1.

Rnd 5: k 56

Rnd 6: k1, k2tog, k22, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k22, k2tog, k1.

Rnd 7: k 52

Continue decreasing on every second rnd until there are 4 sts left on each dpn.

Sew the tip of the toe and the tip of the heel, weave in the ends and block the sock, but don’t block the ribbing.

Tips: If you want to get two exact same pattern in both socks, be sure to start in a place where you have a clear and obvious change of colours and make sure you remember where you started by leaving a long thread that you can get back to and check, for the second sock. And, make sure you don’t sew the tip of the toe until on your first sock you’ve started on your second sock, as you’ll need to use your first sock to find the same pattern for the second one.
