Crochet the net for the bird feeder like this:

Start by crocheting around the plastic ring (which creates the bottom of the feeder) like this:

Crochet * dc3, ch 3 = ”mouse teeths” around the ring * repeat * – * 8 times for a small feeder and 10 times for a large feeder. End with ch1 and 1tr in the first dc.

To make a small feeder:

ch6, 1dc arond the ”mouse teeth” and then just crochet around with 1dc around the chains as you go. Crochet around until you get 5 holes.

To make a large feeder:

ch8, 1dc arond the ”mouse teeth” and then just crochet around with 1dc around the chains as you go. Crochet around until you get 7 holes.

Holes counted from the holes next to the ring.

To Finish the feeder:

Sew the loose ends and crochet a chain aprox. Ch90.  Weave the chain through the holes at the top and sew the tails together tight, so that the feeder doesn’t fall down from the tree.
