Yes; when picking up the stitches to do the heel, you just pick up one leg of each stitch. It can be either leg, but be consistent with which one you are picking up.

C. Thank you again, I am loving this!!
When picking up stitches above and below the red yarn for the starting of the heel, is only one leg of each stitch picked up, not both legs of the stitch? I have watched the videos and it looks like that is what Arne is doing.
Thanks for the help and clarification.

Would someone please clue me in on how we are supposed to close up the toe? I’ve double checked and can’t find any reference to it in the videos.

C. Merry Christmas!
Too funny, Arne, because I did exactly the same thing as you did when I decided to sew in my loose ends early; last evening I realized the error when I tried to remove the scrap yarn and got into a little bit of a mess in part of the heel area. Anyway, live and learn! I thought to myself that I was too inexperienced with the sock knitting and that Arne at least would have realized not to do the loose ends at the heel area. I love it that you and I both had the same problem! Got it figured out and all is good. Cheers!
