HEDVIG – Floral Crochet Throw. (English)

(7 customer reviews)

We love this blanket so much! It’s usually in the back of our 1969 WV “Beetle” that we only drive from spring to early fall and is perfect to wrap ourselves in, when it gets too cold on the road (our heating system in the car doesn’t work).

This is the perfect blanket to crochet using your leftover yarns and personally, we think it will work best in a nice wool, merino or alpaca fiber, preferably a DK yarn, but it will also work in other weights and materials if you prefer. The only limit is your imagination!

A lot of people have requested this pattern since they saw the throw for the first time in this Live Stream (fast forward to 11:05) and we are delighted that we also have been able to feature it in one of our very popular podcasts, which you can find on our YouTube Channel.

This written pattern is enhanced with clear and easy-to-read illustrated charts, which will show you exactly how to crochet the flowers and half-flowers and how to join them together. So, when you purchase this pattern, you get both the written instructions and illustrated charts. ENJOY!

Tips for printing this pattern: Because of the number of detailed charts the file is very large and some printers will struggle due to lack of memory. We recommend you only print the pages with text first (from page x to x) and then print the pages which contain charts one by one.

Suggested Yarn:
Any DK yarn, such as Schachenmayr Merino Extra Fine 120, Rowan Alpaca Soft DK.

Crochet Hook Size: 3.5 mm / U.S. size E-4

Yarn colours and amounts: This project is perfect for leftover yarn! You will need four colours for each flower and a fifth colour for the background. Personalise your throw by choosing your own selection of colours! The pattern contains detailed information on quantities of yarn per 10 flowers as well as information on quantities needed for the background colour for the size of our throw.

Yardage: approximately 4080 metres (4460 yards)

Sizes Available: One size.

Level of difficulty: Intermediate

Even though I just downloaded this pattern I know that I will be able to make it! Your directions are very clear and easy to understand.

I have now bought four of your patterns and am very happy with all of them. Buying and downloading them is so easy. Thanks for the clear directions and good pictures and diagrams.

Looking forward to crocheting this pattern… it looks very clearly laid out and well written. I can’t print the PDF though…. any tips?

If you are having problems, then your computer and printer might be struggling with the size of the charts. If you select to print only the text pages first and then print each chart page at a time, it should work.

Very clear chart and directions, so much detail I had to print one chart at a time. Thank you

I didn’t get any charts with my pattern and I found the written pattern very confusing I’m afraid. Sorry guys!!

When you purchase this pattern, you get 2 downloads: the written text in one link to download and the chart in the second link to download. Both files are linked in the purchase order/receipt that is sent immediately after your payment goes through. I’ve checked the system and it looks like both files are in the purchase order/receipt that you received, so you must have missed clicking and downloading the chart, when you downloaded the text. In any case, sometimes technical errors do occur and, if for any technical reason, you did not receive the chart, you could have contacted us directly and we would have forwarded a copy of the chart to you immediately and with great pleasure! It is such a pity that you did not contact us, as looking at the charts makes all the difference! Best regards -Arne Nerjordet

Very easy to download. Looks to be no problem to crochet (I hope). Just ordered my yarn, I am going to use Drops Merino Extra Fine DK yarn., on sale at Wool Warehouse (35% off). Can’t wait until it is here, but it always takes a while. I live in Cyprus and the mail is not so fast here.

Hi. Wondering how you insert hook when working single crochet into picot to join motifs. Into wrong side and pick up working yarn from front or from right side and pick up working yarn from back. Feeling clumsy- thanks, love this afghan

Go into wrong side as that is easiest. But it doesn’t really matter, if you prefer right side, go for that.
